Remember what Braam said about letting Eloise "get away with anything"? Were you concerned that by letting her choose when she was born we were allowing her to walk all over us? Well, if you were worried, you can rest easy now. For what will probably be the last time in a LONG time, we have asserted ourselves as Bosses Of The Baby. We have wrested control from her tiny grasp. Last Friday, we scheduled an induction for Monday September 13. IT'S REALLY HAPPENING.
The Whole Story:
At our last Dr. appointment, we reminded Dr. Lee that we wanted to make sure that we had Eloise by her due date (so we don't have to buy more insurance). That meant that if we hadn't delivered by the 20th, we would induce labor. Dr. Lee checked the baby's growth and commented that the perinatologist had suggested that if we wanted to induce, we should consider doing it at 39 weeks. He reasoned that if we did it early there would be a better chance at a "successful vaginal delivery" (read: "get her out before that giant head gets any bigger"). Braam and I agreed sure, 39 weeks could work.
So then, Dr. Lee sort of nonchalantly glanced at her calendar and said "How does the 13th work for you?" LIKE WE WERE SCHEDULING A COFFEE DATE OR SOMETHING. You could have knocked me over with a feather. Braam and I just grinned at each other - "Um, sure, the 13th is fine. We aren't busy."
And so it was. We scheduled one of natures most beautiful mysteries. It seems like such an LA thing to do, I'm almost embarrassed. Almost.

I like a baby on a strict schedule. Bring it on, lil ouisey!
